Marsala Road
An extruded pared back study of the traditional form of a typical Victorian terrace. The scheme evolved through an iterative process to create a new multifunctional space for a young family, with two distinct spatial characters created under the roof form.
The exposed timber connects inside to outside, drawing light and views of the sky right into the space through a new clerestory window. A new corner window and seat creates a liminal moment for framed garden views within the building envelope.
A green courtyard retains the existing light levels in the historic living area of the dwelling whilst providing another opportunity for connection with nature.
